Anadarko is among the largest producers of oil and clean-burning natural gas in the state.

Anadarko's Colorado History

Anadarko's history in Colorado dates back more than 30 years. The company's presence in this energy-rich area has grown over the last two decades primarily through two important acquisitions.

In 2000, Anadarko became the owner of Land Grant properties across Colorado in addition to Wyoming and Utah through the acquisition of Union Pacific Resources Company.

Other Strategic Moves Strengthen Anadarko in Colorado

The 2006 acquisition of Kerr-McGee brought 451,000 net acres in the D.J. Basin to Anadarko's portfolio. A large portion of that acreage was located on Anadarko's Land Grant generally in southwest Weld County.
